Polariod Emulsion Transfers
These images were created from 35mm color slides. In a darkroom, the slides
were projected onto a peice of 8 X 10 inch Polariod film. The polariod was soaked
in hot water to loosen the emulsion and seperate it from its white paper backing.
The emulsion which contains dyes that make up the picture, was then transfrered
to a peice of acid free watercolor paper. As it dried the emulsion was manipulated
by hand to create the wavey effect. When dry, it adheres permanently to the
watercolor paper. Polariod has discontinued manufacturing all film, therefore
these images are all of a limited edition.
