Mansfield Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio was built in 1886 to house young first-time offenders. It served that purpose until 1990 when a new prison was built and the old building became a museum and tourist attraction. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987 and is now maintained by the Mansfield Reformatory Preservation Society. Several movies have been filmed there, including Shawshank Redemption, Air Force One, and Tango and Cash. The buildings are open for tours May through October of each year. These images were shot on 35mm high-speed film for the grainy effect that it produces.
